Firefighters Battle House Fire Near 39th and Pacific During Extreme Heat
ST. JOSEPH, Mo. — St. Joseph firefighters responded to a house fire near 39th and Pacific streets Friday afternoon as dangerous heat continued across the area.

The St. Joseph Fire Department and St. Joseph Police Department were called to the scene shortly before 2 p.m. Multiple fire crews responded, with about seven fire trucks observed at the scene.
No injuries were reported in connection with the fire.
Crews were also dealing with difficult weather conditions while battling the blaze. Temperatures in St. Joseph were expected to climb into the mid-to-upper 90s Friday, with heat index values potentially reaching around 105 degrees. An Extreme Heat Warning remained in effect for the area.
The cause of the fire and the extent of damage to the home were not immediately available.
