Missouri Driver Hurt in Collision with Semi-Truck

A 55-year-old Savannah man was injured Tuesday morning after his pickup truck collided with a semi-truck in Atchison County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred just before 9:30 a.m. on U.S. Highway 59, about four miles south of Fairfax.

Investigators say a 2020 Freightliner semi, driven by a 43-year-old Iowa man, and a 2023 Ram 2500 pickup were both traveling southbound when the pickup slowed to turn east onto 290th Street. The semi then struck the driver's side of the pickup.

The pickup driver was transported by Atchison-Holt Ambulance to a hospital in Fairfax with injuries. The semi driver was not injured.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The Patrol no longer publicly releases the names of crash victims.
