Cooler Temperatures and Rain Chances Ahead for St. Joseph This Week

After several days of dangerous heat and heat index values climbing above 100 degrees, St. Joseph is finally getting a break. The next seven days will bring temperatures much closer to normal for late July and early August, with several opportunities for rain before sunshine returns for the weekend.

Wednesday will be warm with a high near 89 degrees and a slight chance of an isolated afternoon shower. Humidity will remain noticeable, but conditions won't be nearly as oppressive as earlier this week.

Rain chances increase on Thursday, when scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop during the afternoon and evening. High temperatures will top out in the mid-80s, and some storms could produce brief heavy rainfall. Residents with outdoor plans should keep an eye on the forecast.

A few lingering showers are possible early Friday, but conditions should gradually improve throughout the day. Afternoon highs will stay in the mid-80s, making it another comfortable summer day compared to recent weeks.

The nicest stretch of weather arrives over the weekend. Saturday is expected to feature a mix of sun and clouds with a high around 82 degrees, while Sunday looks mostly sunny with temperatures climbing into the mid-80s.

The pleasant weather is expected to continue into the start of next week. Monday will remain sunny with highs in the mid-80s before temperatures inch back toward the upper 80s by Tuesday, with only a slight chance for another isolated shower.

Overall, this week's forecast offers a welcome break from the recent stretch of extreme heat. While a few rounds of rain could interrupt outdoor activities Thursday and Friday, the weekend is shaping up to be one of the most comfortable in recent weeks—ideal for community events, youth sports, and time outdoors.
