ST. JOSEPH, Mo. — A juvenile wanted on a felony warrant was taken into custody early Saturday as St. Joseph police continue investigating a string of violent crimes involving young people.
Officers located the juvenile around midnight Aug. 22 at a home in the 2500 block of Mitchell Avenue. Police said the juvenile was also considered a person of interest in other active violent crime investigations.
During the investigation, officers found 14 other juven

iles inside the residence. Each was issued a juvenile referral, which functions similarly to a citation, and their parents or guardians were contacted.
Police also recovered and seized five firearms from the home.
The St. Joseph Police Department said investigators are continuing to work cases involving juvenile violence and illegal firearms, noting that some details cannot be released while investigations remain active.
Police said the department remains focused on identifying those involved in violent crimes, removing illegally possessed firearms from the community when possible and holding offenders accountable.
The arrest and the related violent crime investigations remain ongoing.
