Warm, Humid Conditions Expected Through Wednesday

After several days of dangerous heat and humidity, residents across northwest Missouri are finally getting some relief as temperatures settle back into the 80s for the remainder of the week.

While humidity levels will remain elevated, afternoon highs are expected to stay in the mid-80s, a noticeable change from the recent stretch of upper-90-degree temperatures and heat index values that climbed to around 110 degrees.

Overnight lows are forecast to remain warm, generally in the low 70s through the workweek.

Rain chances will return at times over the next few days, with the best opportunity for showers and thunderstorms arriving Thursday night into Friday. Although widespread severe weather is not expected, a few rumbles of thunder are possible.

Looking ahead to the weekend, the forecast calls for pleasant summer weather with plenty of sunshine, afternoon highs in the mid-80s, and overnight temperatures cooling into the mid-60s. Dry conditions are expected to continue into the start of next week, with comfortable temperatures remaining in the 80s.

After the recent stretch of extreme heat, the cooler pattern should provide a welcome break while still offering plenty of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors.
