SJSD Investigating Reported Social Media Threat Involving Spring Garden Middle School

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. — The St. Joseph School District says it is taking additional safety precautions Thursday after a reported threat involving Spring Garden Middle School appeared on social media.

The message was posted on Facebook Thursday morning and was reported to district officials. SJSD said the situation is being treated seriously while the reported threat is investigated.

School Resource Officers are at Spring Garden Middle School as part of the district’s response.

District officials said they are working with law enforcement to assess the situation and help ensure the safety of students and staff.

SJSD also sent a message to employees and families Thursday morning informing them of the situation and the precautions being taken.
